My love for design began as a young girl and was cultivated by my mother, who would take me to art museums, the theatre, show home tours, etc. I would spend hours flipping through her art books and design magazines studying the paintings and pictures. I studied Art History and Studio Art, receiving a BFA from the University of Texas at Austin, and went on to do post-graduate work in Interior Design.
After working for Interior Design firms in Alexandria, Virginia and Houston, Texas, I launched Donna Mark Designs. After twelve plus years I still feel like the luckiest girl in the world to be able to do what I love and meet the people that I have met in this industry!
I am proud to say that some of my clients have turned into personal friendships and ongoing design partnerships that have lasted years. Design for me is an ongoing learning process. I continue to research design trends and stay on top of new design products and practices simply because I am still interested and engaged in this profession. It is important to me that my designs are not “cookie cutter” and that every client is treated as an individual. I pride myself on being flexible to the client’s needs and that I remain curious to learn more about interior design. I am fortunate to have turned a passion into a profession!
